Angkrish Raghuvanshi was called back from the boundary, while his batting partner Cameron Green was adjudged run out during the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) IPL 2026 clash on Thursday, March 2.

Cameron Green's poor IPL start for KKR continues

Green walked in following the dismissal of KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane with just an over left in the powerplay, with the home side chasing 227 at the Eden Gardens. They had started strongly and were well placed to mount a challenge even after Rahane’s dismissal at 67-2 in five overs.

However, a comedy of errors saw Green depart after scoring just two runs in two deliveries, just an over later. Raghuvanshi straight drove Eshan Malinga, who couldn’t collect the ball cleanly, and the two batters bolted for a run. Malinga was lucky to get hold of the ball after it struck his boot, however, and Raghuvanshi, running towards the non-striker’s end, fell short.

But just as the youngster was about to leave the field of play, he was called back, with replays showing that the two batters hadn’t crossed when the bails were broken, and Green was instead adjudged out. Raghuvanshi made the call count, hitting a second consecutive fifty in IPL 2026, but was ultimately run out after a mix-up with Rinku Singh.

Cameron Green could bowl very soon: KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane

The sub-par outing further compounded Green’s problems, who scored 18 runs in KKR’s opening match but did not bowl, with Cricket Australia stating that the all-rounder was managing a lower-back issue. He wasn’t called on to bowl against SRH as well, but was spotted bowling in the nets for KKR a day before the game.

"He is doing all the things that he needs to do, physio and training. Our training is looking after him really well. All that I can say is that you will see him bowl very soon," Rahane said at the toss on Thursday.
