Rain is expected to hit the eagerly anticipated IPL 2026 clash between the Rajasthan Royals and the Chennai Super Kings in Guwahati on Monday (March 30).
Samson, Jadeja prepare to face former colleagues
Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals had a trade ahead of the 2026 IPL auction. Sanju Samson, who had led RR until the 2025 IPL, moved to CSK, in exchange of Sam Curran, who has been ruled out of this season, and Ravindra Jadeja. It is worth a mention that Jadeja had started his IPL career with RR in 2008.
On Monday (March 30), the two teams – who had clashed in the first ever IPL final – will meet for the first time since this switch, at RR’s adopted “home” in Guwahati. This will be the first match of the season for both teams. A notable confirmed absentee from the match is former CSK captain MS Dhoni, who has been ruled out for the first two weeks.
What is the Guwahati weather forecast for RR v CSK?
BBC Weather paints a gloomy picture: “thundery showers” are expected from 6.30pm to 10.30pm (the toss is expected to take place at 7pm, and the first ball at 7.30pm). After that, the forecast changes to “light rain showers”, which continues until 12.30am on March 31.
Weather.com, on the other hand, predicts that things may clear up over the course of the match, though things will remain “mostly cloudy”.
The AccuWeather predictions are on similar lines. The showers have cleared up and, despite intermittent clouds, the evening is likely to be clear. However, if the match is played, that will happen in sapping humidity, of above 80 per cent.
Updates from people in Guwahati, unfortunately, are not very bright.
