IPL 2026 is starting to get into full swing: here are the latest injury updates from all ten teams, including the current status of injured players and replacement updates.
The 19th edition of the IPL began on March 28 with defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru beating Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in the season opener. Find the full IPL 2026 schedule here.
While some players picked up an injury during the recently concluded T20 World Cup, others have been carrying long-standing issues and also missed the ICC event in India and Sri Lanka. Chennai Super Kings also suffered a big setback ahead of the new season.
CSK have been dealt the latest blow regarding injuries, with Ayush Mhatre ruled out of the season due to a hamstring injury.

Cummins aiming to return by April 25th
In an Instagram post on Wednesday (April 15), SRH captain Pat Cummins confirmed he would be flying back to India on Friday, and is aiming to return by April 25 for their game against Rajasthan Royals.
The Australia Test captain had flown back home for a scan.

Sri Lanka Cricket have granted a no-objection certificate to Eshan Malinga to feature in IPL 2026, as per News Wire.
SRH retained Malinga after he picked up 13 wickets in seven games last season.

RR to sign Dasun Shanaka as Sam Curran replacement - Report
As per Cricbuzz, Shanaka is set to replace Sam Curran, who was ruled out of the season due to a groin issue.
The Sri Lanka all-rounder was set to represent Lahore Qalandars in the upcoming PSL season, but has reportedly pulled out to play in the IPL.
Sri Lanka stars told to clear fitness test for IPL NOC
LSG's Wanindu Hasaranga, KKR's Matheesha Pathirana, RCB's Nuwan Thushara, and SRH's Eshan Malinga all need to clear respective fitness tests to obtain a no-objection certificate to participate in IPL 2026.
The likes of Dushmantha Chameera, Pathum Nissanka (both DC) and SRH's Kamindu Mendis have been cleared after passing fitness tests.

Sam Curran to miss IPL 2026 season for RR - Report
Sam Curran is the latest addition to the ever-growing list of overseas pacers to miss all or part of IPL 2026.
As per ESPNCricinfo, Curran is nursing a groin issue, which has forced him to withdraw from the upcoming season of the T20 league.
Matheesha Pathirana decalred fit and granted NOC for IPL 2026
KKR pacer Matheesha Pathirana has been declared fit and granted the necessary NOC to play in the IPL, Sri Lanka Cricket secretary Bandula Dissanayake has told PTI.
"As far as I know, he’s fit and we have given him NOC to participate in the IPL, that’s all I know at this point of time,” Dissanayake said.
Pathirana had suffered a hamstring injury during the T20 World Cup and was doubtful for at least the start of IPL 2026. However, he now seems to be fit to be joining the franchise ahead of the tournament.
Lockie Ferguson to miss early phase of IPL for PBKS
Lockie Ferguson has decided to miss the early stages of the IPL for the Punjab Kings to spend time with his family. The New Zealand pacer took a short paternity leave during the T20 World Cup but returned in four days.
"Just had a wee son, trying to spend as much time as I can at home and help the wife out," Ferguson said ahead of the third T20I against South Africa (via ESPNCricinfo). "I'll have a few weeks off after this, before sort of heading to the later stages of the IPL and away for the winter.

Blow to RCB and SRH ahead of IPL 2026 opener
As per CODE Sports, SRH's Pat Cummins and RCB's Josh Hazlewood are both set to miss the start of the IPL 2026 season. The duo's teams will face off in the tournament opener on March 28.
Hazlewood is expected to miss at least the first two matches, having last played competitive cricket in November 2025. Cummins will reportedly miss the early stages of the tournament, with no fixed timeline on the duo's return.
KKR's Harshit Rana still on road to recovery ahead of IPL 2026 season
As per an ESPNCricinfo report, Harshit Rana is still on the road to recovery after undergoing a knee surgery. He injured his knee during the T20 World Cup 2026 warm-up match against South Africa, and is expected to miss a major chunk of the season for the Kolkata Knight Riders.
As per Cricbuzz, Rana will miss all of the season, but KKR are not looking to sign a replacement as they feel they have enough options.
