RR skipper Riyan Parag won the toss and chose to field first. His bowlers vindicated the call with an excellent Powerplay as Jofra Archer, Nandre Burger and Sandeep Sharma removed CSK's entire top four to leave them 38-4. Sarfaraz Khan, Shivam Dube and Kartik Sharma were all also back in the hut within 11 overs, and it was eventually left to Jamie Overton to score 43 and drag them to 127, following a 33-run last-wicket stand with Anshul Kamboj.

The target was unlikely to ever trouble Rajasthan. 18 runs came off the first over as Vaibhav Sooryavanshi hit Matt Henry for six and four. The onslaught didn't stop there, as the 15-year-old took on every single bowler, getting to a half-century off 15 balls with consecutive sixes off Noor Ahmad. He holed out for 52 off Anshul Kamboj, but by then the chase was a formality. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag took RR over the line for an eight-wicket win with 47 balls to spare.
