What matches will be played on the final day of the IPL 2026 league stage?

Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, 3.30pm IST: Mumbai Indians vs Rajasthan Royals
Eden Gardens, Kolkata, 7.30pm IST: Kolkata Knight Riders vs Delhi Capitals

What do Rajasthan Royals need to qualify?

RR’s equation is simple, for their qualification will depend solely on their match. If they win, they qualify for the playoffs. If they do not win (this includes the possibility of a washout), they do not qualify.

What do Punjab Kings need to qualify?

PBKS have the best net run rate of the three teams. To qualify, they need two things to happen. One, RR cannot win (see above). And two, they need KKR to either not win or finish behind them on net run rate.

For Punjab to qualify on net run rate, KKR need to finish on a net run rate behind PBKS’ +0.309. For that to happen, KKR’s win against DC cannot be by a margin more than approximately 77 runs or 45-46 balls to spare.

The exact count will depend on the total of the side batting first as well as on the winning hit (a six with scores level will help KKR more than a six with six runs to win). However, the first number will remain between 76 and 78 runs for totals between 180 and 225, and the second number between 43 and 48 balls.

PBKS will go through unless KKR pull one of these off.

What do Kolkata Knight Riders need to qualify?

KKR’s conditions – including RR getting at most one point – have been discussed above.
