Today's IPL 2026 matches: Who are the players to watch out for?

GT vs KKR, Ahmedabad, 7:30pm local time

Gujarat's top three of Gill, Sai Sudharsan and Buttler have not looked as invincible as last season, but the England international has found runs once again in his last couple of games, a promising sign no doubt. GT boast Purple Cap holder Prasidh Krishna and young Indian speedster Ashok Sharma among their bowling attack as well. Rashid Khan looks to be getting back to his best with the ball, but they may want a bit more from Kagiso Rabada, who seems a bit off the boil.

Winless in five games, KKR have real headaches on their hands, not least the form of their big-money signing Cameron Green, who returned 0-30 in two overs and a golden duck against CSK last time out. In that game, KKR showed they were willing to open the batting with Finn Allen and Sunil Narine. That is a potential route for them to take if they want to drop Green – push Narine to the top, Ajinkya Rahane down to No.3 (not ideal, but he cannot be dropped as he is captain) and play an extra quick in Blessing Muzarabani. On the bright side, Kartik Tyagi has shown glimpses of the talent he displayed five years ago in the IPL, and games under his belt should only improve that.
