Ireland will host Afghanistan for a five-match ODI series starting August 5, and here’s everything about where you can catch the action live.
The five-match ODI series will be played from August 5 till August 14 across Bready and Belfast. The first two ODIs will be played in Bready, with the subsequent three games scheduled to be played in Belfast.
All the five ODIs will commence at 10:45am local time (3:15pm IST). The first ODI will be played on August 5, with the subsequent games scheduled on August 7, 10, 12 and 14 respectively.
The two teams last locked horns in an ODI series in 2024 in the UAE, with Afghanistan clinching the three-match series 2-0. With a spot in the 2027 ODI World Cup on the line, both teams will be gearing up to put their best foot forward. The visitors are currently ranked eighth with 90 rating points, whereas Ireland occupy the 12th spot with 54 points.
For Ireland, this series will be a chance to test their squad under new head coach Gary Wilson. With speedster Josh Little injured, Jai Moondra and Ben Calitz will be tested. Afghanistan, on the other hand, have a new skipper in Rahmat Shah, while Shane McDermott is their new assistant and fielding coach.
