Lhuan-dre Pretorius became the youngest full-member men's T20I centurion with his 53-ball 101 in a high-scoring thriller against Namibia.

After a 51-ball 94 in the previous match against Zimbabwe, Pretorius slammed his maiden T20I ton against Namibia to help South Africa comeplete an 11-run win. He breached the three-figure mark with a six, only to be dismissed off the very next delivery, bowled by Namibia skipper Gerhard Erasmus.

Pretorius and Connor Esterhuizen had given South Africa a great start, adding 156 runs together for the first wicket. Pretorius got to his fifty in the 11th over, and backed that up with a six and four off the next two deliveries, taking South Africa to 150. But Esterhuizen was dismissed for a 40-ball 88 in the next over, and Dewald Brevis soon followed him, slowing down the innings.

Pretorius added 41 runs with Rubin Hermann, who was dismissed for a 21-ball 26 in the 19th over while trying to up the ante. South Africa notably managed just 18 runs from overs 17th to 19th. Pretorius then smashed two sixes in the last over to complete his hundred off 52 balls, with South Africa eventually getting to 228-4, their fifth-highest T20I total. In the process, he became the youngest full-member centurion in men's T20Is.

Namibia, however, gave South Africa a run for their money, getting to 217-3 to fall just 11 runs short of the target. Openers Louren Steenkamp and Jan Frylinck scored 61 off 44 and 72 off 36, respectively, with the former walking back retired hurt. Erasmus remained unbeaten for a 26-ball 30.

With the win, South Africa topped the tri-series table with six points, and will be locking horns with Zimbabwe, who finished with four, in the final of the tri-series on September 6, in Windhoek. Namibia could manage only one win, which came in their opening clash against South Africa, while also running Zimbabwe close in a classic T20I match.
