Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by six wickets in the T20 tri-series final, involving Zimbabwe as the third team. Here’s how the result affected the men’s T20I team rankings.
Mohammad Nawaz’s wizardry with the ball restricted Sri Lanka to just 114 runs in the final. He returned with figures of 3-17, and was ably helped by the returning Shaheen Shah Afridi, who also picked up three wickets while conceding 18 runs.
The Pakistan batting line-up made light work of the chase, completing it with six wickets to spare. Babar Azam top-scored with a 34-ball 37, while Saim Ayub, who had a disappointing series otherwise, also contributed with 36 runs. This was Pakistan’s second consecutive T20I series win after they got the better of South Africa by a 2-1 scoreline in October-November.
Pakistan lost just one of their four games in the T20I series: a six-run defeat to Sri Lanka just before the final.
