After the Test series was drawn 1-1, Pakistan clinched the three-match T20I series 2-1, with Babar Azam scoring a half-century in the decider. The two teams will now meet in a three-match ODI series. The last time Pakistan faced South Africa in a bilateral series was in December last year, when they achieved a historic 3-0 clean sweep.
Overall, in head-to-head ODI clashes, South Africa hold the edge with 52 wins, while Pakistan have won 34, with one match ending in a no result.
