Karachi Kings registered their biggest victory in the PSL, beating Multan Sultans by 87 runs in the first match of a double-header on Thursday (May 1).
Batting first after winning the toss in the afternoon game, Karachi Kings got off to a flying start with David Warner making 30 off 13 and Tim Seifert scoring 22 off 11. Multan Sultans were able to pull things back by taking three wickets inside the powerplay, but a 78-run fourth-wicket partnership between James Vince (65 not out of 45) and Irfan Khan (40 off 33) took them to 138-4 in 14.5 overs.
Khushil Shah's all-round brilliance too good for Multan
Khushdil Shah came out to bat at No.6 and hit three sixes and two fours to supercharge the Karachi innings. He made 33 off 13 as Karachi finished on 204-4.
Multan got off to a terrible start in their run-chase, losing skipper Mohammad Rizwan for a duck in the second over. They never managed to recover from that blow. Only Yasir Khan (26 off 17) and Kamran Ghulam (29 off 25) went past 20 as six single-digit scores meant Multan could only rack up 117.

Khushdil, high on confidence after his effort with the bat, took two big wickets with the ball as well, dismissing Ghulam and Iftikhar Ahmed. His four-over spell cost only 26 as he combined with Afghanistan veteran Mohammad Nabi (3-14 off four overs) to spin a web around Multan.
Khushdil's near-perfect performance put him in an elite club of only two players who have scored 30-plus runs at a 250-plus strike rate and taken two or more wickets under seven runs per over in a PSL game. The only other player to do so is Saim Ayub, who achieved the feat against Quetta last year.
Khushdil was part of Pakistan's Champions Trophy squad where he made 107 runs from two games, the only Pakistan batter to cross three figures across the entire tournament.
Karachi Kings' biggest ever PSL victory
The 87-run margin of victory is a new record for Karachi Kings, whose previous biggest PSL victory was by 86 runs, coming against Lahore Qalandars in 2023. While chasing, their biggest victory-margin is 10 wickets, having achieved the feat against Lahore in PSL 2020.
