Islamabad United beat Multan Sultans by 47 runs on April 16’s PSL 2025 match in Rawalpindi. Here is the updated PSL 2025 points table after the IU vs MS match.
Jason Holder’s terrific all-round performance helped Islamabad trounce Multan by 47 runs. IU posted 202-6 after Mohammad Rizwan won the toss and opted to field at Rawalpindi. Sahibzada Farhan (53 in 35 balls) and Colin Munro (48 in 25) laid a solid platform before Haider Ali (33 in 16) and Holder (32 not out in 14) provided late fireworks. For MS, Usama Mir finished with 4-0-31-1 and David Willey with 3-0-21-1.
At 62-1 in the sixth over and later at 92-2 in the tenth, MS seemed to be in the hunt. However, they lost wickets in pursuit of quick runs, and imploded against Holder (4-0-25-4 along with two catches). Support came from Imad Wasim (4-0-33-2) as Rizwan (38 in 27), Usman Khan (31 in 20), and Iftikhar Ahmed (32 in 26) played the only innings of any substance.
Holder became the first cricketer to score 30 runs, take four wickets, and take two catches in the same PSL match.
