
Islamabad United lost their first match of PSL 2025, against Lahore Qalandars, on Wednesday (April 30). Here is what the PSL points table looks like after the result.
In Match 19 of the 2025 PSL, at Lahore, LQ beat IU by 88 runs to reach second place on the points table. It was also IU’s first defeat of the season.
LQ posted 209-6 after Shadab Khan won the toss and opted to field. Each of their top six went past 20, with Fakhar Zaman (44 in 30 balls), Sam Billings (38 not out in 17), and Sikandar Raza (39 in 17) doing the bulk of the scoring. For IU, Shadab returned 4-0-27-0, while Jason Holder (4-0-54-2) and Imad Wasim (3-0-26-2) had two wickets apiece.
Andries Gous (41 in 27) and Salman Ali Agha (36 in 25) then took IU to 80-1 by the 10th over. However, once the partnership broke, the rest caved in against Haris Rauf (4-31) and Raza (3-20). LQ were bowled out for 121 in 16.5 overs.

Despite the defeat, IU continue to maintain a two-point lead over other teams in the points table. LQ leapfrogged the Quetta Gladiators to the second spot (equal on points and a marginally superior net run rate), but QG have a game in hand.
