Peshawar Zalmi beat Islamabad United by six wickets on Friday (May 2). Here's what the PSL points table looks like after that result.
Peshawar Zalmi overcome Islamabad United in crunch game
Islamabad skipper Shadab Khan chose to bat first in Lahore after winning the toss. Openers Sahibzada Farhan and Kyle Mayers made a steady start, taking their side to 49-0 in six overs.
Farhan was the first to go, for a sedate 36 off 35 balls, in the ninth over. At the end of that over, they were 62-1, but a spectacular middle-order collapse saw them slump to 91-6 by the 14th over. Eventually, it was left to No.9 Ben Dwarshuis to slam an unbeaten 33 off 17 to lift Islamabad to 143-9.

Peshawar's chase got off to the worst possible start as openers Mitchell Owen and Saim Ayub were back in the hut within eight balls. Mohammad Haris then departed to leave them 38-3 in 5.5 overs. But 19-year-old debutant Maaz Sadaqat (55) got together with Babar Azam (53*) to put on 102 runs. When Sadaqat was dismissed, Peshawar needed just four to win, and they got over the line with 20 balls to spare.
PSL 2025 points table: Updated team rankings after Peshawar vs Islamabad
Neither side has moved in the points table. Islamabad remain at the top, but only have a one-point lead over Quetta Gladiators after playing the same number of games. This was their second loss in a row, after 10 wins on the trot stretching back to last season.
Peshawar stay in fifth place, but this was a crucial win to keep their playoff hopes alive. They are two points behind Karachi Kings with both teams having played seven matches each. With two of their three remaining games against already-eliminated Multan, and Karachi themselves, Peshawar might back themselves to string together three consecutive wins and march into the playoffs.
