Thirty-five-year-old all-rounder Aamer Yamin picked up a five-wicket haul in the first round of the 2025-26 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy on Wednesday (October 8).
Aamer Yamin takes Quaid-e-Azam five-for
After rain washed out the first day of play (October 6), Multan and FATA (Federally Administered Tribal Areas) kicked off their opening match of the season on October 7 at the Diamond Cricket Ground in Islamabad.

FATA batted first, and were in early trouble when opener Mohammad Naeem departed for a duck, dismissed by Kashif Ali. His opening partner, Mohammad Farooq, followed suit for 25 to leave FATA 41-2.
Thirty-five-year-old Aamer Yamin struck twice in quick succession after FATA had recovered, removing two set batters in Haseebullah (63) and Mohammad Sarwar Afridi (80). Yamin went on the mop up the tail on day three (October 8), dismissing Shahid Aziz, Sameen Gul and Zahid Mehmood to finish with 5-48.
Yamin's career so far
A pace-bowling all-rounder, Yamin has been on Pakistan's domestic scene for over a decade now. A breakout campaign with Multan in 2013-14, followed by a knock off 45 off 20 in the domestic T20 competition in 2015, saw him selected for the national side.
He made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe in October 2015, and T20I debut against England in November 2015. His international career did not last long, though, with just six appearances across the two white-ball formats. He last played international cricket in 2018.
Yamin was in action in England earlier this year, turning out for Pakistan Champions in the World Championship of Legends. He made 40 runs and took three wickets in five matches, as Pakistan lost the final to South Africa, which featured AB de Villiers.
