Bangladesh's tour of Sri Lanka started with a two-match Test series followed by a three-match ODI series. After drawing the first Test, Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh by an innings and 78 runs to take the series. In the ODIs, Sri Lanka won the first and third games with Bangladesh winning the second, their only victory on this tour so far.

The three T20Is would be the final leg of the tour, to be played on July 10, 13, and 16 at Pallekele, Dambulla, and Colombo respectively.
