Sonal Dinusha and lower-order batters helped Sri Lanka draw the second Test vs India in Colombo. Here’s the updated World Test Championship points table at the end of the two-match series.

India were exceptional with the bat in the first innings after winning the toss. Centuries from Devdutt Padikkal and Dhruv Jurel and fifties from Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant helped India declare on 503-9.

Pasindu Sooriyabandara (80) and Sonal Dinusha (103) stepped up for the hosts in response but little support from the other batters meant they were skittled for only 290. Having earned a lead of 213, India enforced the follow-on. When play started on the final day, Sri Lanka had only four wickets in hand with a lead of 16 runs.

But Dinusha stood between India and victory yet again, batting incredibly well to force a draw. He remained unbeaten on 132 as Keshara Nuwantha, Prabath Jayasuriya, Lahiru Kumara and Asitha Fernando supported him at the other end.

Sri Lanka declared their second innings at 429-9 with an hour remaining in the Test as both teams decided to shake hands. India won the two-match series 1-0.
