Yashasvi Jaiswal’s elder brother, Tejasvi Jaiswal, struck his maiden T20 half-century, playing for Tripura in their Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025/26 game against Uttarakhand in Ahmedabad.
Tejasvi, who joined Tripura just last year, was playing only his third T20 game and first this season, all of which have come in the SMAT. Coming in at No. 3 after Sridam Paul’s (43 off 22) dismissal at the end of the powerplay, Jaiswal went on to score a composed fifty.
Batting alongside sidelined India stars Hanuma Vihari and Vijay Shankar, he added a combined 49 runs with the duo before joining hands with captain Manisankar Murasingh to add another 29 before departing for a 37-ball 51.

Swapnil Singh provided the finishing touches, scoring 20 off nine to take the side to 163-6. Uttarakhand were yet to start their innings at the time of writing.
After having joined Tripura in 2024, Jaiswal has so far played nine matches for them across formats, including the Uttarakhand game. He made his first-class debut in the 2024/25 Ranji Trophy against Meghalaya and finished the season with 164 runs in seven innings at 23.42. He also picked up a wicket in the season with his right-arm pace.
He has played just one List A game so far, for Tripura against Kerala in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024/25 season. Opening the batting in the game, he scored a 40-ball 23 before falling to Basil Thampi.
