Ishan Kishan starred for Jharkhand in their Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025/26 win over Tripura with a scintillating century.
Rapid hundred for Ishan Kishan
Out of the Indian white-ball setup for two years now, Kishan has continued to churn out runs in the domestic circuit. One such performance came in Jharkhand’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025/26 group game against Tripura, where he slammed a 50-ball 113 to power his side to an eight-wicket win.
Kishan won the toss in Ahmedabad and sent in Tripura to bat first. Opener Bikramkumar Das held one end even as Tripura lost three wickets inside the powerplay: his 29-ball 42 included six fours and a six. Vijay Shankar hit a 41-ball 59 to hold the innings before captain Manisankar Murasingh provided the finishing touch with 42 off 21 to take his side to 182.
However, Tripura had no answer to Kishan’s onslaught in the chase. As Virat Singh joined him after two early wickets, Kishan completed his half-century off 29 deliveries with a six, before reaching his hundred in 45 balls.
In all, he hit 10 fours and eight maximums in his 50-ball stay at the crease, while stitching an unbeaten 153-run partnership with Virat, who scored 53 off 40. The chase was completed in the 18th over. This was Jharkhand’s third consecutive win in SMAT 2025/26, putting them at the top of the Group D table.
This was the first time Kishan went past fifty in three matches of the ongoing SMAT season. However, he has been in good form in the Ranji Trophy, scoring 246 runs at 82 with a high score of 173 across three innings. He had also scored a fifty from the middle order in the third match of India A’s unofficial ODI series against their South Africa counterparts.
