The fifth Ashes Test kicks off on Sunday (January 4) in Sydney. Here are what the odds look like for the match.

Who will win the fifth Test?

Betway have Australia listed as favourites to win the Sydney Test and win the 2025/26 Ashes 4-1. The odds of this result are listed at 3/5 while an England win is available at 11/5. Draws, of course, have become highly unlikely in the current cricketing landscape. This is reflected in the odds of 23/4 on that result.

Which team will have the highest opening partnership?

England came into this series with a fixed opening pair of Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley, which has not changed. Australia, meanwhile, stumbled upon the Travis Head-Jake Weatherald partnership in the first Test and have largely persisted with that (Scott Boland opened as a nightwatch at the MCG).

However, Crawley-Duckett's opening stands have not been hugely successful in this series. As a result, England are priced at 1/1 by Betway, to record the highest opening partnership in the match. Australia are priced at 7/10 for the same.

Which bowler will stand out at the SCG?

Unsurprisingly, Australia left-arm quick Mitchell Starc is the favourite to take 10 wickets in the match, or five wickets in the match. Betwayoffers those odds at 11/2 and 4/9 respectively.

For the more daring, Matthew Potts and Ben Stokes might be enticing options. The English pair are priced at 11/8 and 6/4 respectively to take five wickets in the match, and both are more than capable of doing so. Stokes in particular has been in some career-best bowling form over the past 12 months or so. His fitness, of course, can still be questioned.
