Australia have extended their lead at the top of the ICC's Test team rankings after they sealed victory in the fifth Ashes Test in Sydney.
Australia win the Ashes 4-1
Having retained the urn at the earliest possible opportunity after three Tests, Australia were defeated by England at the MCG for the first time in 12 years. However, they finished the series in style at the SCG, thanks to centuries from Travis Head and Steve Smith which put England on the backfoot. A sensational maiden hundred from Jacob Bethell gave England brief hope before a catalogue of errors saw Australia set 160 to win.

It should have been plain sailing for the hosts, but a flurry of wickets left them five wickets down and still needing 39 runs to win. Josh Tongue took three wickets to finish a positive tour for him, before Alex Carey and Cameron Green came together to finish the job.
The match also marked Usman Khawaja's last Test match for Australia, with the top-order batter retiring following lifting the urn. Khawaja played 88 Tests for Australia, and finishes his career with an average of 48.82 and 16 Test hundreds.
