Ashes 2025/26: Australia win Adelaide Test by 82 runs
Australia made a forced last-minute change to their lineup after Steve Smth had to be left out due to illness. Usman Khawaja took his place at No.4 and played an impactful knock of 82 on the first morning. Alex Carey, however, was the lead act with his century as Australia posted 371 despite Jofra Archer's 5-51.
Archer also offered resistance with the bat (51) alongside skipper Ben Stokes (83) to take England to 286, but a massive hundred from Travis Head (170) in the second innings took the game beyond England's reach as they were set a target of 435.
Zak Crawley (85) and Jamie Smith (60) hit half-centuries and England crossed the 350-mark, but eventually fell short by 82 runs as Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, and Nathan Lyon shared three wickets each.
With this victory, Australia sealed the series with two matches to go.

World Test Championship: Updated 2025-27 WTC points table after third Ashes Test
This was Australia's sixth straight victory in the 2025-27 World Test Championship, having also won 3-0 against the West Indies. They have consolidated their position at the top of the table with a PCT of 100.
England's PCT, meanwhile, has slipped from 30.95 to 27.08 following the defeat, their fifth in eight matches in the campaign. They remain seventh on the points table, sandwiched between sixth-placed India and eighth-placed Bangladesh.
