What every team needs from their last league game

Trent Rockets

The Trent Rockets sit well on top of the table and are the only side to have won all of their last five fixtures. They will have no problems with qualification, but will want to finish at the top to qualify directly for the final. They will take on Southern Brave in their last fixture, a win will take them through to the final, while a narrow loss could still see them finish first due to their superior net run-rate.

Southern Brave

The Brave started with five consecutive wins, but lost their last two fixtures, against the Welsh Fire and the Manchester Super Giants. They have also qualified for the knockouts, but will want to get back to winning ways against the Rockets and also have a crack at the top-most position by beating them comprehensively enough to surpass their net run-rate.

Manchester Super Giants

With 18 points, the Super Giants will take on Sunrisers Leeds, who are placed just below them in the table with only two fewer points, in a do-or-die contest. The winner qualifies for the playoffs. The two teams have locked horns once in the tournament before, with the Super Giants winning by four wickets. Smriti Mandhana almost single-handedly helped them chase 143 with a 50-ball 88*.

Sunrisers Leeds

The Sunrisers, like the Super Giants, have a straightforward equation to book a spot in the Eliminator. A win from their last game will get them through to the knockouts, while a defeat will send them packing.

What every team needs from their last league game

Trent Rockets

The Trent Rockets are comfortably at the top of the points table with six victories in seven matches. But to qualify for the final directly, they need to win their last match against Southern Brave. If they lose, and the Sunrisers Leeds beat the Super Giants, Rockets will slip to the second spot and will have to play the Eliminator.

Sunrisers Leeds

The Sunrisers started off on a scratchy note with two wins and as many losses in four games. But they recovered well with three consecutive victories, and with 20 points now in the bag, they need to win and hope the Rockets lose to qualify for the final. But they will also be looking behind, with both Manchester Super Giants and MI London not far off in the NRR column.

Manchester Super Giants, MI London & Welsh Fire

This is where it gets interesting. All three teams are on 16 points each, and none of them will be playing against the other. Welsh Fire, who have an NRR of -1.001 will need to win by a far greater margin as compared to the other two, who are stacked pretty close. If the Super Giants, MI London and Welsh Fire all win their respective fixtures, things will come down to NRR, with four teams on the same number of points.
