The sixth men’s edition of The Hundred is scheduled to kickstart from July 21, with MI London taking on Sunrisers Leeds in the opener at The Oval.
The first match of the tournament will take place just a day after the England - India ODI series. As many as 14 players from the current England ODI squad will join their respective franchises for the tournament.
The defending champions, formerly known as the Oval Invincibles, will enter the season under a new identity as MI London after Reliance Industries acquired a 49 per cent stake in the franchise in December 2025. Surrey County Cricket Club retains the remaining 51 per cent ownership. MI London are chasing a fourth successive Hundred title after winning each of the last three editions.
The competition has also seen other franchise rebrands, with Northern Superchargers becoming Sunrisers Leeds and Manchester Originals renamed Manchester Super Giants. Alongside the ownership changes, teams will now have squads of 16 to 18 players instead of 15, while the number of overseas players permitted has increased from three to four.
Besides MI London, only Southern Brave (2021) and Trent Rockets (2022) have lifted the men's Hundred trophy.
Matches in the 2026 edition will be played across eight venues: Kennington, Southampton, Birmingham, London, Cardiff, Manchester, Leeds and Nottingham. The venues and timings for the Eliminator and the final are yet to be confirmed.
