Karun Nair four hundreds

India batter Karun Nair continued his rich vein of form, scoring a fourth consecutive ton in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, guiding his team to the semi-final and etching his name in record books in the process.

Playing in the quarter-final of the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy against Rajasthan, captain Karun Nair anchored Vidarbha's chase of 292 with an attacking 122 off 82 balls from No.3 in a knock that included 13 fours and five sixes. As a result, Vidarbha ended up winning the game by nine wickets and with 39 balls remaining to advance to the semis.

For Nair, it was his fourth century in as many games in the tournament, having already scored tons against UP (112), Tamil Nadu (111*), and Chandigarh (163*). Adding up, his numbers in his last four List A games read: 508 runs at an average of 508 and a strike rate of 129.26.

In fact, his last two scores before the century against Chandigarh were 44* and 112*, taking his tally of hundreds this season to five, the joint most in a single season of the Vijay Hazare Trophy along with Tamil Nadu's Narayan Jagadeesan.
