In the 2025/26 Vijay Hazare Trophy, Hyderabad’s Aman Rao Perala smashed 200 not out in 154 balls against Bengal at Rajkot.
Aman Rao hits double ton against four international bowlers
Hyderabad posted 352-5 after Bengal captain Abhimanyu Easwaran won the toss and opted to field. Rahul Singh hit a 54-ball 65, while captain Tilak Varma got 34, but the star of the innings was Aman, who batted through the innings to finish with exactly 200 not out.
Aman’s innings came against a Bengal attack comprising of Mohammed Shami, Akash Deep, Mukesh Kumar, and Shahbaz Ahmed, all of whom have played for India. Some of them are even in contention at this point.
From 154 balls, Aman hit 12 fours and 13 sixes. Two of these sixes brought up his 150 and 200.
This is the highest score for Hyderabad in the Vijay Hazare Trophy by some distance. Tilak (156 not out against Tripura, Surat 2020/21) held the previous record. This is also the ninth double hundred in the history of the tournament.

Who is Aman Rao?
Aman was born in Madison, Wisconsin. According to the BCCI’s regulations, one has to become an Indian citizen to play domestic cricket in India, so he almost certainly holds an Indian passport.
Debuting in the 2024/25 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Aman hit a 42-ball 67 not out in his only match of the season, against Mizoram. He got a longer stint in 2025/26, scoring 234 runs at a strike rate of 164. His only half-century, a 29-ball 52 not out against Mumbai, catapulted him to fame just ahead of the IPL auction: chasing 132, he hit 24 off Shardul Thakur in the first over of the chase.
At the auction, Rajasthan Royals acquired him at his base price of INR 30 lakh.
He made his List A debut in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy, scoring 39 against Baroda and 13 against Chhattisgarh. This was his third game in the format.
