Amid the West Indies' 27 all out collapse in the Kingston Test against Australia, debutant Kevlon Anderson took a baffling review to challenge an lbw decision.
Chasing a fourth-innings target of 204, West Indies lost a wicket off the very first ball when John Campbell was caught behind off the bowling of Mitchell Starc. Debutant Kevlon Anderson, who replaced veteran Kraigg Brathwaite as an opener in the first innings, came in at three. He left the first two deliveries: a bouncer way down leg, followed by a wide good-length ball outside off. Then, he solidly defended a good-length ball on middle-and-off.
Anderson’s innings ended on the fifth ball of the over due to a costly misjudgment. Facing a full inswinger from Starc, the right-hander anticipated the ball would leave him and offered no shot. He was struck on the front pad as the ball darted into his shin. It seemed plumb from the outset, yet Anderson opted for a review – seemingly persuaded by his batting partner Mikyle Louis – but to no avail.
The replay confirmed the ball would have clattered into middle stump, with pitching and impact both in line, satisfying all three lbw criteria. The on-field 'out' decision stood, leaving Anderson no choice but to trudge back to the pavilion.
Starc struck again next ball, dismissing Brandon King for a duck too, to complete a triple-wicket maiden over. Anderson’s review sparked online debate, with many calling it a contender for "worst DRS review ever".

Starc then removed Louis (4) and Shai Hope (2) in a three-ball burst during the fifth over to complete a five-wicket haul in 15 balls, the fastest in Test history. West Indies, reduced to 7-5, never recovered and were eventually skittled for 27, the second-lowest Test innings total. The 176-run defeat in Kingston completed a humiliating 3-0 series whitewash for the hosts.
