Pakistan beat West Indies by eight wickets in the second Test to level the two-match series and register their second win of the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.

After going down in the first Test by 90 runs, Pakistan fought back brilliantly in the second match as spinner called the shots in Port of Spain. Led by the returning Abdullah Shafique’s 160 and captain Babar Azam’s 88, they registered a first-innings lead of 43 runs before bowling out the hosts for 117 in the second and chasing down the 75-run target easily.

Sajid Khan starred in both the innings, taking four wickets in each, while left-arm spinner Ali Usman, playing only his second Test, also picked up four in the second innings. Jomel Warrican returned figures of 6-112, while Justin Greaves and Roston Chase scored 73 and 70 respectively, in the first innings.

Brandon King picked up a back injury while running out Babar in the first innings and didn’t bat in the second as a result.

Updated WTC 2025-27 after second WI vs PAK Test

Pakistan leapfrogged the West Indies to move into the eighth spot in the WTC table. Their PCT improved from 6.67 to 22.22 after six matches, taking them close to England in seventh, while the home side's PCT fell from 22.73 to 20.83.
