The Women’s Asia Cup is all set to commence on August 28. The tournament will be played in Dubai for the first time in history. Here’s how to watch the competition across the world.
The 2026 Women’s Asia Cup will feature eight teams and 15 T20 matches in Dubai. The teams have been divided into two groups: India, Pakistan, Hong Kong and Thailand are in Group A, while Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, UAE and Indonesia form Group B.
Each team will play the others in their group once before the top two teams from each group make it to the semi-finals. All matches will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium and will get underway at 6.30pm local time (8pm IST, 3.30pm UK).
This is the second time eight teams are featuring in the Women’s Asia Cup. In 2022, seven teams participated in the tournament before a team was added in 2024. Indonesia are making their maiden appearance in the competition and Hong Kong are returning after 2012.
Sri Lanka are the defending champions, having won in 2024. India have historically dominated the T20I Asia Cup, winning three of the five editions so far and finishing runners-up in the other two occasions. They have also won all five editions of the ODI Asia Cup.
