Temba Bavuma, Aiden Markram pose with the World Test Championship mace

The latest update to the ICC men's Test player rankings has seen big gains for World Test Championship winners across the board.

Temba Bavuma, Aiden Markram rewarded for WTC final heroics

South Africa's victory at Lord's last week has seen several of their players move up the rankings, with centurion Aiden Markram making the most notable move. Markram scored a match-defining second innings century against Australia, guiding the Proteas to a remarkable five wicket win. As a result of that innings, Markram has closed in on the top 10, moving up to seven places to 11th, just two ratings points behind the New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell.

South Africa captain Temba Bavuma also reached a new high rating after he made a half-century in partnership with Markram at Lord's. While he maintained his position in sixth on the rankings table, he has a career-best rating of 806 points.

Elsewhere in the batting top 10, Travis Head dropped below 10th after making 11 and 9 in his innings' at Lord's. His drop means Rishabh Pant, Saud Shakeel and Mitchell all move up one spot.

In the bowling rankings, Australia bowlers Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon have both slipped one place, meaning Pakistan's Noman Ali moves up into fourth. Mitchell Starc also moved up into the top 10, sitting on equal points with Ravindra Jadeja. Starc also rose in the all-rounder standings, going up three places to tenth, and displacing Mitchell Santner, Chris Woakes and Axar Patel.
