New Zealand have had a near-spotless campaign so far, winning all four of their matches. South Africa, meanwhile, won two and lost two, with their victories coming against the hosts, Zimbabwe.
The previous two times New Zealand and South Africa met in the tri-series, the Blackcaps convincingly outplayed the Proteas. First, New Zealand won by 21 runs, courtesy of a 57-ball 75 not out from Tim Robinson. Then, Tim Seifert’s unbeaten 66 off 48 balls helped them chase down 135 in 15.5 overs with seven wickets remaining.
Seifert, the top run-scorer of the series so far with 166 runs at an average of 55.33 and a strike rate of 145.61, will look to deliver yet again. New Zealand also have the joint-highest wicket-taker, Matt Henry (8 wickets at 14.37 and an economy of 7.66), in their ranks.
