Pakistan have named a 16-member squad for the three T20Is against Bangladesh, to be played in Lahore in May 2025.
Pakistan have left out former captains Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi for their upcoming three-match T20I series against Bangladesh. The series begins on May 27 at Lahore, two days after the PSL 2025 final at the same venue.
Salman Ali Agha will lead the side, while Shadab Khan will be his deputy. Hassan Ali, who has not played for Pakistan in any format since the T20Is in Ireland in May 2024, has been recalled. From 51 T20Is, Hassan has 60 wickets at 24.26 and an economy of 8.45.
“The squad has been selected based on players’ performances in the ongoing HBL PSL X”, mentioned a PCB statement. In the ongoing PSL, he has 15 wickets at 20.73 and 9.01 for the Karachi Kings.
Also recalled has been Sahibzada Farhan, who has hit 394 runs at 39.40 and 155 for the Islamabad United in PSL 2025. He was in the headlines when he hit four T20 hundreds between March 15 and April 14 this year. The last of these, a 52-ball 106, came in the PSL.
The last of Farhan’s nine T20Is came on the Zimbabwe tour of December 2024. His nine games for Pakistan have fetched him only 86 runs at 9.55 and 96. He has reached double figures only twice in nine innings.
