Sri Lanka Test opener Lahiru Udara scored his second first-class hundred in a row, following up his double hundred with a knock of 126 for Nondescripts Cricket Club in the Major League Tournament.
Playing against Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club in Colombo in the Major League Tournament, Sri Lanka's premier first-class tournament, Udara opened the innings with Niroshan Dickwella. The duo stitched together a 34-run stand before the latter departed for 21, but Kamil Mishara, who recently played in the T20 World Cup, contributed with a 58-ball 61, with the duo putting on 103 runs for the second wicket.

Udara was batting on 92 at the end of the 39th over when Ravindu Fernando came in to bowl. Udara hit a six on the second ball, moving to 98 before completing his hundred with a couple of singles, off the 109th ball he faced. He went after Lahiru Madushanka next up, hitting four boundaries in a row, before falling soon after, for a 129-ball 126, with the help of 12 fours and a boundary.
Chamika Karunaratne (61) also contributed with handy runs down the order as the team were bowled out for 438. In reply, Bloomfield made 501, before the game ended in a draw.
In the previous game of the season, against Police Sports Club, he had notched up 261, with four sixes, taking his team to 631-9d. The opponents were asked to follow on, before the game ended in a draw.
In the ongoing Major League Tournament, Udara has scored 714 runs in 15 innings, with two hundreds and as many fifties, at an average of 51. He is the team’s leading run-scorer and is currently fourth on the list of highest run-scorers in the edition.
Udara made his Test debut against Bangladesh last year, scoring 78 runs in three innings with a high score of 40. The 32-year-old has been a consistent performer in domestic red-ball cricket, playing 118 games since his debut in 2014. Udara has scored 8,129 runs at 41.90, with 18 hundreds and 39 fifties, with a best of 290*.
