In the ongoing tri-series, also a part of the 2023-27 Cricket World Cup League 2, hosts Netherlands beat UAE by 113 runs to kickstart their proceedings. The win was set up by captain Scott Edwards, who hit a 78-ball 74 to help the Dutch score 272-7 batting first.
In reply, UAE were skittled out for just 159 in 41.2 overs, with Paul van Meekeren (3-24) leading the attack, supported by Vivian Kingma (2-28) and Kyle Klein (2-43). Michael Levitt and Zach Lion-Cachet chipped in with a wicket apiece.

What is the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2?
The ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 is an international competition played in the ODI format as a gateway to the Cricket World Cup and is the second level of the qualification system. The top four sides in the tournament will advance to the Cricket World Cup Qualifier, while the remaining four will be required to take part in the Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off. There, the top four sides from the ICC World Cup Challenge League, ICC’s third-tier 50-over tournament, will also fight for a World Cup spot.
