
The third and final round of the Buchi Babu tournament began on August 26 - here's the round-up from day two of all eight games.
TNCA President's XI vs Chhattisgarh
Chhattisgarh resumed at 4-0 overnight in response to the President's XI's 266. They were soon reduced to 94-5 before Sahban Khan (51) and Rishi Sharma (54) put on 65. But after the pair was dismissed in quick succession, their innings quickly folded for 187. Seventeen-year-old off-spinner J Hemchudeshan starred with 6-64.
They rallied second time around with the ball, though. Shashank Tiwari struck early on, before Sahban picked up 4-18 in his eight overs. At the end of the day, the President's XI were 81-7, leading by 160. A tantalising day three awaits.

TNCA XI vs Bengal
Bengal impressed with the bat on day two, recovering from 58-4 to post 241, and take a 38-run lead. Saurabh Singh was the top scorer with 79, as no other batter made it past 44. TNCA XI had enough time to bat 31 overs in their second innings, reaching 147-3 by stumps. No.3 Mohamed Ali remained unbeaten on 64 off 74, and will be eyeing up a century tomorrow.

Mumbai vs Haryana
Mumbai's first innings concluded yesterday, with 90 overs being bowled. They started well with the ball, reducing Haryana to 35-3 and then 67-4. Haryana then slipped to 138-6, before a rescue act came in the form of a 186-run seventh-wicket stand between Parth Vats and Amit Rana. 40 more runs were added after Rana's dismissal to help Haryana to an 18-run lead, as Vats remained not out on 146.
Scores at stumps: Mumbai 346-9 vs Haryana 364. Haryana lead by 18 runs.
Railways vs Baroda
Skipper Abhimanyusingh Rajput's 61 on day two helped Baroda take a narrow first innings lead, even as Zubair Ali Khan took 5-32. It was then Aryan Chavda's turn to shine, as the left-arm spinner took 6-43 to knock Railways over for 121 (Dinesh Mor retired hurt) in their second innings.
Baroda managed to begin batting for a second time, and were 28-2 in 11 overs in pursuit of 113 at stumps, as Raj Chaudhary took both wickets.
Scores at stumps: Railways 184 & 121-9 vs Baroda 193 & 28-2. Baroda need 85 runs to win.
Madhya Pradesh vs Hyderabad
This game moved at breakneck speed on day two. Hyderabad's 155-1 overnight swiftly turned into 414-7 declared as Tanmay Agarwal (130) and Varun Goud (100*) struck rapid centuries. In reply, Madhya Pradesh batted their entire allotment of 45 second-innings overs and scored 174-2, meaning they were unable to overhaul Hyderabad's score, and slipped to an innings loss.

Jharkhand vs Punjab
Punjab's openers put on 91, in response to Jharkhand's competitive 366-8, but they were soon reduced to 97-3 which included a duck for star batter Prabhsimran Singh. Uday Saharan and Salil Arora put on 44 for the fourth wicket, but once Saharan was dismissed, the floodgates opened. Punjab slid from 141-3 to 182 all out, Rishav Raj the wrecker-in-chief with 5-33.
Jharkhand reached 53-0 by stumps, stretching their lead to 237 runs.

Odisha CA vs Jammu & Kashmir
The SSN ground saw another late rescue act, as J&K were 35-3 and 142-6, replying to Odisha's 314. No.8 Abid Mushtaq scored 71 in a 138-run partnership with captain Paras Dogra, who was the ninth wicket to fall, for 141. By then, he had helped his side to a 14-run lead (it eventually became 16).
Odisha only had time to bat four balls in their second innings, but managed to lose a wicket as Om Munde pulled Umran Malik to substitute Sunil Kumar at mid-on.
Scores at stumps: Odisha 314 & 6-1 vs Jammu & Kashmir 330. Odisha trail by 10 runs.
Maharashtra vs Himachal Pradesh
Having put up an imposing 440 on day one, Maharashtra backed up their batting with a clinical bowling performance to bowl Himachal Pradesh out for 239. CSK all-rounder Ramakrishna Ghosh, who took the new ball, returned standout figures of 4-61 as left-arm spinner Vicky Ostwal continued his good form with 3-84. Opener Arshin Kulkarni followed his 146 with the wicket of opener Ankush Bains from just four overs of bowling. HP skipper Innesh Mahajan top-scored with 71.
With enough time to bat 27 overs, Maharashtra then extended their lead to 315 runs. Kulkarni remained not out on 62, and twin tons in the game are there for the taking.
