Kamran Dhariwal slammed a half-century off just 13 balls to single-handedly help Gloucestershire chase down 182 runs against Worcestershire.

Dhariwal smashed 70 runs off 22 balls at a strike rate of 318.18, with four fours and eight sixes. He notched up the joint-fastest fifty in the history of the T20 Blast in the process, reaching the landmark in just 13 balls. Marcus Trescothick was the first to achieve the record back in 2010 for Somerset against Hampshire.

Fifteen years later, Aneurin Donald repeated the feat on his way to 85 off 30 deliveries for Derbyshire against Yorkshire. All three fastest fifties in T20 Blast have come in a successful run-chase of more than 180 runs.

Before Trescothick, Gerard Brophy held the record for the fastest fifty, having reached there in just 14 balls for Yorkshire against Derbyshire. He is now fourth on this list, with three players smashing a fifty in just 13 balls. Sol Budinger completes the top five, having scored a fifty in just 15 balls for Leicestershire against Derbyshire last year.

Dhariwal came out to bat in the 11th over of the innings with his team reeling at 73/4. He was dismissed after 31 balls, in the 16th over, but by then, the 21-year-old had turned the tables on the opposition. Eighty runs were added to the score, with 70 of those scored by Dhariwal.

His dismissal ignited hopes for Worcestershire to sneak through to a crucial win, but an unbeaten cameo of 16 runs from Graeme van Buuren helped Gloucestershire register a two-wicket win.

This victory also sealed their place in the quarterfinals. They are now in second place in the Central & West group with 28 points after 11 matches. Even if Gloucestershire lose their last game by a big margin and slip to third, they will go through by virtue of having the highest points among teams in other groups, under the rules of the new format for the competition.
