With the group stage of T20 Blast set to conclude on July 12, the race for the knockouts is heating up. Here’s how each team can qualify.

The group stage of the ongoing T20 Blast edition is nearing its end and the race to qualify for the knockouts is heating up. The 18 county teams have been divided into three regional groups – North group, South group and Central & West group – of six teams each. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the quarterfinal round, as will the best two third-placed teams.

With the group stage matches set to conclude on July 12, let us have a look at how each team can qualify for the knockouts of T20 Blast 2026.

Central & West Group

With an eight-point lead, Northamptonshire have won eight out of nine matches so far and have sealed their berth in the knockouts, as Gloucestershire and Worcestershire will face each other in one of their remaining games. Gloucestershire and Worcestershire, of course, will want to win the all-important game and seal at least a second place.

Glamorgan are also alive, but they need to win at least one (ideally two or even all) of their remaining three matches. Somerset also have a chance as they can reach 28 if they win their remaining three matches. Warwickshire have been knocked out.

North Group

Nottinghamshire have qualified for the next round from the North Group as no team apart from Yorkshire can even reach 28 points. Yorkshire also need just a win to seal their place. But if they lose both matches and Lancashire win their remaining two matches, then it could all come down to NRR. In this case, both teams may go through if not more than one team from other groups touch 26 points at the end of the group stage.

Durham, Leicestershire and Derbyshire are almost out of the tournament as they can reach only 24 if they win their remaining matches.

South Group

Hampshire are on top of the points table in the South group with 28 points after nine matches. They need only one win in three matches to qualify.

Surrey and Essex are fighting for second place in the table. Surrey are at an advantage as they have a game in hand and can reach 32. Essex can also reach 28 points if they win their remaining two matches.

Middlesex and Sussex have been knocked out of the tournament, while Kent are also unlikely to reach the quarterfinals as they reach only 24 points even if they win their last two matches.
