After an unbeaten 81 in the recent fixture for the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited, Azan Awais piled up 167 against Pakistan Television in the ongoing President’s Trophy Grade-I fixture.

After showing signs of splurging back into form in the last fixture with an unbeaten 81, Awais dominated proceedings in the first innings against Pakistan Television with a commendable 167, his 12th first-class hundred. In an innings that lasted more than six hours, Awais helped SNGPL register 347 in their first innings. Omair Bin Yousuf also scored 82.

Awais, 21, last scored a first-class hundred on his Test debut, against Bangladesh in Mirpur in May. Between that hundred and the 81 not out, he scored 275 runs across 16 first-class innings at 17.19.

After being put in to bat, Awais added 79 for the first wicket with Sameer Minhas, who was dismissed for a 72-ball 34. Muhammad Shhazad took out No.3 Abdullah Shafique and bowled Shan Masood first ball with the team score on 98.

Awais then found an able ally in Omair Bin Yousuf (82 in 151 balls), stitching a 181-run partnership for the fourth wicket to resurrect the innings. However, they again slipped from 326-4 to 347 all out on the second day. Shahzad finished with four wickets, Israr Hussain three, Ali Usman two, and Haris Rauf one.

At the time of writing, PTV were 58-4 in 16 overs. They train by 289 runs. Sharoon Siraj (17) and Ammar (12) are at the crease.
