Bangladesh Under-19 and South Africa Under-19 are set to clash in the Zimbabwe Youth ODI tri-series final on Sunday (August 10) in Harare – here’s where to watch the live streaming of the BAN U19 vs ZIM U19 final.
BAN vs SA U19: Road to the final
Bangladesh finished as the top-ranked team on the points table, winning five of their six matches. Their 16 wins since 2024 are now the joint-highest among all teams. With a win-loss ratio of 2.285, they also boast the second-best performance in this period.
South Africa, meanwhile, won four matches and lost two (both to Bangladesh). Zimbabwe endured a winless campaign, suffering six consecutive defeats.
Prior to the tri-series, the two teams faced off in three Youth ODIs at Benoni. Bangladesh clinched the series with an unassailable 2-0 lead going into the third match. South Africa claimed a morale-boosting victory in the dead rubber, powered by Jorich van Schalkwyk’s record-breaking 164 not out (the highest Youth ODI score by a South African batter at the time).
Three days later, van Schalkwyk shattered his own record, hammering 215 against Zimbabwe in the tri-series opener – becoming the first batter in U19 ODI history to score a double century.
Who are the players to watch out for in the Zimbabwe tri-series final?
Van Schalkwyk tops the runs chart with 299 runs at 59.80 (SR: 117.71), though his average is heavily inflated by his record-breaking double century. Beyond that innings, he managed just one fifty in his next four knocks.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh captain Azizul Hakim has delivered a fine all-round performance so far: 186 runs (third-highest in series) and 6 wickets at an average of 21.00 and an economy of 3.81.
Among bowlers, two of the highest wicket-takers – South Africa’s Bayanda Majola (12 wickets) and Bangladesh’s Al Fahad (11 wickets) – are set to clash against each other.
