The BCCI’s revised schedule for the international home season omitted Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium from hosting any matches.
India’s upcoming international home season will start with a Test match against West Indies from October 2 in Ahmedabad. The second match of the series, which was supposed to be held at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata from October 10, has now been shifted to the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Eden Gardens will now host the first Test of the India-South Africa series from November 14.
In another rejig to the schedule, the women’s ODI series between India and Australia has been moved out of Chennai due to the revamping of the outfield and pitches at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. The first two matches will not take place at the New PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh, while the third and final ODI will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

South Africa A are also scheduled to tour India for a multi-format tour across October and November. The two four-day unofficial “Tests”, starting October 30, will be played at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (COE) in Bengaluru, as scheduled. However, the subsequent unofficial “ODIs”, originally scheduled to be played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in the same city, have now been handed to the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.
The BCCI haven't provided a specific reason for the decision. However, it the move comes days after 11 people died in a stampede-like situation outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in celebration of home franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru's much-awaited maiden IPL trophy.
In the aftermath of the incident, Nikhil Sosale, a senior RCB official, has been arrested after their victory parade led to chaos. Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) secretary A Shankar and treasurer AE Jairam tendered their resignation, taking moral responsibility.
