The victory celebrations for RCB following their maiden IPL title quickly turned sour as several stampede-like situations were reported outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru won their maiden IPL title on Tuesday, June 3, beating Punjab Kings by six runs at Ahmedabad. This comes just a year after the franchise broke its trophy duck with the Women's Premier League title in 2024.

The victory, naturally, was marked by wild celebrations in Bengaluru, before the franchise announced that an open-top bus parade would be organised in Bengaluru on June 4 after the team flew back, followed by a felicitation ceremony at their home ground of the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Reports through the day of June 4 went back and forth between the parade being on, and potentially being shut down by the Karnataka police. Crowds of people made their way to the ground in the afternoon, with confusion abounding over entry gates. Several fans attempted to scale the walls of the stadium after being denied entry for lengthy periods of time, and reports have emerged citing casualties.

Here are the latest updates on the situation.
