Best men's ODI figures for Bangladesh, full list: Nahid Rana breaks 20-year-old national record

Almost three months after making the headlines for his second five-wicket haul in just 10 ODIs, Bangladesh speedster Nahid Rana has now etched his name in the history books for the best bowling figures for Bangladesh in Men's ODI cricket. At only 23, he now has the best ever men's ODI fitures for Bangladesh: he took 6-21 to bowl out the hosts for a modest 141.

Under what looked like overcast skies, Bangladesh skipper Mehidy Hasan Miraz put the Zimbabweans in to bat first. The hosts got off to 36 off the first 6.3 overs, but started losing wickets at regular intervals from there, and could not claw back into the game.

Nahid, brought in as first-change, and he wasted no time. He dismissed Sikandar Raza, and earned a wicket in each of his subsequent overs to stun the hosts in their own backyard.

The Zimbabweans were reduced to 70-8, but a 63-run partnership for the ninth wicket between Newman Nyamhuri and skipper Richard Ngarava took them past the 100-run mark. Yet again Rana orchestrated the breakthrough for Bangladesh as he sent Ngarava packing for a well-compiled 27.

Nahid broke a 20-year long record to find himself at the top of the list. Mashrafe Mortaza had taken 6-26 in 2006. Rubel Hossain equalled Mortaza in 2013 but could not go past him.
