The third and final round of the Buchi Babu tournament began on August 26 - here's the round-up from day three of all the eight games.

TNCA President's XI vs Chhattisgarh

With just three wickets remaining, TNCA XI stretched their overnight lead of 160 to 200 before being bowled out for 121, thanks to Sahban Khan’s efforts for Chhattisgarh.

Chhattisgarh, however, faltered in their chase and were bowled out for 141. Seventeen-year-old off-spinner J Hemchudeshan was the star once again, finishing with match figures of 11-109 (6-64 and 5-45). He was well-supported by P Vidyuth, who took a five-wicket haul (5-46) in the second innings, in addition to his 3-43 in the first.

TNCA XI vs Bengal

Bengal secured a 38-run first-innings lead after recovering from 58-4 to surpass TNCA XI's total of 203. In response, TNCA XI were bowled out for 213 in their second innings, with Vishal Bhati claiming 6-75.

Chasing 176, Bengal crossed the line in 32.2 overs. Sudip Kumar Gharami top-scored with 70, and Abishek Porel – who had scored 44 in the first innings – contributed a quick 50 off 42 balls. With the scores tied, Gharami sealed the win with a four. Earlier, Bengal's first-innings standouts included Saurabh Kumar Singh (79) and Rahul Prasad, who took 5-44.

Scores at stumps: TNCA XI 203 & 213 vs Bengal 241 & 179-4. Bengal won by six wickets.

Mumbai vs Haryana

The first-innings scores were almost nullified, though Haryana finished with a slight lead of 18 runs, thanks to Parth Vats' 146 not out. Then Nikhil Kashyap – who had taken a six-wicket haul for Haryana in the first innings – picked up 3-64. He was well-supported by Ishant Bhardwaj (3-41) and Parth Vats (3-36), as Haryana bowled Mumbai out for 232.

Set a target of 215, Haryana sealed the victory thanks to Himanshu Rana (61) and Dheeru Singh (82). Sumit Kumar finished the chase in style, hitting a six to cap off his unbeaten 23-ball 30.

Scores at stumps: Mumbai 346-9 & 232 vs Haryana 364 & 220-5. Haryana won by five wickets.

Railways vs Baroda

It was a nail-biting, low-scoring thriller at the IC Guru Nanak Ground in Chennai. Baroda, needing just 85 runs at the start of the day with eight wickets in hand, suffered a dramatic collapse. They slumped from 19-2 to 90 all out, chasing a target of 113.

The Railways bowling attack was instrumental in the comeback. Zubair Ali Khan (3-22), Raj Chaudhary (3-29), and Akash Pandey (3-25) took three wickets apiece. It was Zubair’s 5-32 earlier, which helped Railways claw back into the game despite managing just 184 in the first innings.

Jharkhand vs Punjab

Chasing a massive target of 403 in 45 overs in the fourth innings, Punjab got off to a flying start thanks to openers Prabhsimran Singh and Harnoor Singh Pannu, who put on 119 runs in just 13.2 overs. Despite Prabhsimran falling for a brisk 59 off 41 balls, former India U19 opener Harnoor continued the blazing display, bringing up his ton off 75 balls before perishing for 106 off 83 balls. However, the target proved to be too much, and Punjab finished their innings at 271-8, losing by 131 runs.

The match was set up by Jharkhand's strong first-innings performance, led by Shikhar Mohan (105) and Rishav Raj (5-33). Anukul Roy was their chief wicket-taker, finishing with figures of 5-79.

Scores at stumps: Jharkhand 366-8 & 218-8 vs Punjab 182 & 271-8. Jharkhand won by 131 runs.

Odisha CA vs Jammu & Kashmir

Odisha scored 240 in their second innings, with captain Subhranshu Senapati (55) and Govinda Poddar (72) making key contributions. Having conceded a 16-run first-innings deficit, they needed to defend 224.

They did so comfortably, with Syed Tuffel Ahammed starring, taking 4-33. Jammu and Kashmir were bowled out for just 106, with eight of their players recording single-digit scores. J & K captain Paras Dogra's 141 in the first innings went in vain.

Scores at stumps: Odisha 314 & 240 vs Jammu & Kashmir 330 & 106. Odisha won by 118 runs.

Maharashtra vs Himachal Pradesh

Maharashtra extended their overnight second-innings lead of 315 to 374, with Arshin Kulkarni (69) and Saurabh Nawale (62) both scoring fifties. In response, Himachal Pradesh managed only 194-6 in 45 overs, with Ankush Bains top-scoring with 87 in a valiant but unsuccessful effort. The foundation for Maharashtra’s victory was laid by twin centuries from Kulkarni (146) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (133) in the first innings.

Scores at stumps: Maharashtra 440 & 173-4 vs Himachal Pradesh 239 & 194-6. Maharashtra won by 180 runs.
