The group stage of the Buchi Babu invitational tournament for 2025 ended on August 28. Here's the points table for the competition.
The final round of group stage fixtures ran from August 26-28. One of the standout performances of the round came from 17-year-old spinner J Hemchudeshan, who followed up his 6-64 with 5-45 for TNCA President's XI, against Chhattisgarh.
Former India U19 opener Harnoor Singh Pannu also put in a stellar showing, slamming a 75-ball century for as Punjab attempted to gun down 403 in 45 overs. They eventually fell short by 131 runs.
TNCA President's XI comfortably topped Group A thanks to their 59-run victory over Chhattisgarh. Group B was far closer. Eventual table toppers Jammu & Kashmir lost their final match, to Odisha, and that coupled with Railways' nail-biting win over Baroda meant only one point separated the pair.
Haryana topped Group C relatively comfortably, but second place was close between Bengal and TNCA XI. Bengal took it, thanks to a six-wicket win. Group D was the least competitive for top spot as Hyderabad won three out of three (the only team in the competition to do so). The other three sides – Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Jharkhand – were separated only by their quotient after finishing on six points each.
