Yorkshire lost their last four wickets to run outs in a dramatic Women's One-Day Cup fixture on Wednesday (April 29).
Yorkshire lose last four wickets to run outs against Durham
At Scarborough, Yorkshire won the toss and put Durham in to bat. 16-year-old Ines Blackwell struck twice in two balls to reduce Durham to 45-3 by the end of the first ten overs, before dismissing Hollie Armitage to make to 53-4. Emily Windsor and Bess Heath put on 71 for the fifth wicket, before Phoebe Turner took over. The 23-year-old converted her maiden List A half-century into a knock of 100* off 82 balls, taking her side to a competitive 290-8.

In their chase, Yorkshire lost Lauren Winfield-Hill and Rebecca Duckworth with just four on the board, before a middle-overs recovery came from Jess Jonassen (104) and Sterre Kalis (79). Both were dismissed by the 40-over mark though, with 229 on the board.
In the 43rd over, Blackwell hit a full toss into the off side and set off for a run, having seen non-striker Beth Langston take a start. But Langston turned back mid-run, leaving Blackwell stranded and run out by a mile. Yorkshire were 251-7 by now, needing 40 off 42 balls.
16 runs and three overs later, Langston paid for another mix-up with her own wicket. Rachel Slater's leg side hoick yielded a single, with Langston going well past the popping crease at the batting end, slowing down. But Slater had called for another run, and charged down the wicket for a second. Langston responded to the call, but eventually had no chance of making her ground and was out for 23.
Four balls after that, a double call of "yes-no" between Slater and Claudie Cooper resulted in the latter failing to make her ground at the striker's end; at 269-9 now, Yorkshire needed 22 off 21 balls.
Slater brought the equation down to 10 off the final over, to be bowled by Turner. Jessica Woolston's single put her on strike, and she launched a full delivery for six on the leg side. Two singles off the next three balls saw Slater regain strike, with one to win. She swung at and missed a length delivery outside off, but even as she took off for the bye, Durham keeper Tahlia Wilson hit the stumps with an underarm throw to run her out and tie the game.
It was the first tie of this year's tournament, but the fourth in the competition since 2024.
