Priyansh Arya scored 76 (29) in the DY Patil T20 Cup on Wednesday, following on from a 40-ball hundred two days ago.

Priyansh Arya scores 101 (41) and 76 (29) in back-to-back DY Patil T20 Cup games

Arya was representing DY Patil Red in their quarter-final against DTDC at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Opening the innings as his side batted first, he got off the mark with boundaries on the second and third balls of the innings.

Two more sixes and a four took Arya to 27 off 14 balls by the end of the third over. He added another ten in the following over, even as his opening partner Atharva Kale had contributed just seven.

In the fifth over, he cut loose against off-spinner Maxwell Swaminathan. A high full toss was dispatched over long on, before a full delivery went back over the bowler's head. Arya once again used his feet off the third ball to send it over covers for six, bringing up a half-century off 21 balls. Two more hits over the offside field then brought him one-bounce fours.

In the final over of the Powerplay, he collected three boundaries off left-arm spinner Shreyas Gurav before holing out in the deep on the legside, for 76 off 29 in a team score of 84. After his onslaught, DY Patil Red went on to post 226-5, after Kale scored 56 and Priyam Garg, Aman Khan and Suraj Shinde scored quickfire twenties.

This knock from Arya comes just two days after another massive score in the competition; against CGST two days ago, he made a half-century off 16 balls before going on to complete a century off 40 balls. His 101 off 41 that day helped DY Patil Red chase down 150 in just 12.1 overs.

In 2024, he caught the eye after hitting six sixes in an over in the Delhi Premier League and scoring a century for Delhi in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. In 2025, Arya was handed an IPL debut for Punjab Kings, scoring 47 off 23 in his first game before making a 39-ball century against CSK. The 24-year-old finished the season with 475 runs at a strike rate of 179, and later in the year made his maiden List A ton for India A against Australia A.

Arya also made his first-class debut in the recently-concluded Ranji Trophy; from two first-class matches, he has 131 runs at an average of nearly 44.
