Zak Crawley has received his first call-up to England’s T20I squad for the upcoming tour of New Zealand.
The white-ball tour will start with three T20Is on October 18, which will be followed by as many ODIs. The last two T20Is will be played on October 20 and 23, with the ODIs starting three days later, from October 26.

Zak Crawley picked in T20I squad for the first time
Crawley, who has played 59 Tests and eight ODIs since his international debut in 2019, has been selected for the shortest format following his successful run in the Hundred this year. Playing for Northern Superchargers, he scored 280 runs at an average of 40, along with a strike rate of 160, taking them into the playoffs.
He also played five matches for Kent in the T20 Blast, making 242 runs with a strike rate of 169.23. Crawley averaged 60.50 with two fifties, pushing his case for selection in England's squad for the shortest format.
In other news, Ben Duckett, Jamie Smith, and Jofra Archer have not been picked in the T20I side but are included for the ODI series.
Sam Curran makes ODI return
Curran, who has not played an ODI since November 2024, earns a recall after a stellar campaign in the Hundred, which helped Oval Invincibles to clinch their third title in a row. He scored 238 runs at a strike rate of 176.29, along with 12 wickets at 19.83. Earlier this month, he also played a T20I for the first time in almost a year, against South Africa.
Curran is the other all-rounder in the squad that also features Liam Dawson. Saqib Mahmood is recovering from a knee injury and has not been picked, while Sonny Baker also keeps his place in both squads despite expensive starts to both ODI and T20I cricket.
Both squads will be led by Harry Brook, who took over as white-ball skipper from Jos Buttler after the Champions Trophy this year.
