When will the England Domestic One-Day Cup 2025 be played?
The One-Day Cup, preceded by Metro for sponsorship reasons, is England's premier List A competition, will begin on August 5 with a total of 77 matches scheduled. The tournament will feature 18 teams divided into two groups competing for the title, culminating in two quarterfinals on August 28, two semifinals on August 31, and the final on September 20. The participating teams are:
Group A: Notts Outlaws, Essex, Worcestershire, Surrey, Gloucestershire, Glamorgan, Hampshire, Leicestershire Foxes, Derbyshire Falcons
Group B: Kent Spitfires, Yorkshire, Somerset, Lancashire, Durham, Warwickshire, Northamptonshire Steelbacks, Middlesex, Sussex Sharks
Glamorgan enter as the defending champions, having beaten Somerset by 15 runs in the previous year’s final. They begin their latest campaign against Hampshire on the opening day.

What's the format of the Metro One-Day Cup 2025?
Each team will play eight group matches – four at home and four away. The top three teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage. The group winners will progress directly to the semifinals, while the second- and third-placed teams will compete in the quarterfinals.

The second-placed team from each group will face the third-placed side from the opposite group in the quarterfinals. The winners of these matches will advance to the semifinals. The final will be played at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, on September 20.
