The latest T20 league on the world map, here’s everything you need to know about EUT20 Belgium.

When will EUT20 Belgium be played?

The European T20 league, organised by Destino Legends Sports LLC in partnership with Cricket Belgium, was launched in October 2025 in Brussels, and is scheduled to be played between May 30 and June 7, 2026. It will likely overlap with Vitality Blast Men 2026, which begins on May 22.

How many teams will feature in the tournament?

Six teams will participate in the tournament, one each from the cities of Antwerp, Bruges, Leuven, Liege, Ghent and Brussels. It is unclear whether the matches will be played across the six cities or only at select few venues.

Why is the EUT20 Belgium in news?

The player registration for the tournament was opened on December 26, with the administration claiming that over 200 international players registered within 48 hours.

The tournament has come in focus after some high-profile players, including South Africa’s Rassie van der Dussen and Sri Lankan all-round duo of Angelo Mathews and Wanindu Hasaranga have signed up. Former England captain Eoin Morgan has been appointed as the brand ambassador for the league.

The players will be divided into seven categories ahead of a potential draft.

Icon: For high-profile current international players with a minimum experience of 50 T20Is and 150 franchise T20 matches under Full-Member boards. The icon players are also expected to have played at least 50 franchise T20 games over the last two years.

Platinum: For high-profile international players with a minimum of 40 T20Is played, along with 120 franchise T20 games in Full-Member nations, and at least 40 over the last 24 months.

CAT A+: Players from Full-Member boards who have played at least 35 T20Is and featured in 100 franchise T20 games. They also need to have played at least 35 franchise T20s in full-member nations over the last 24 months.

CAT A: Players from a Full-Member board with experience of at least 30 T20Is and 75 franchise T20 games. They should also have played at least 30 T20s over the last two years.

CAT B: Another category for players from Full-Member boards. The minimum experience expected here is 20 T20Is and 50 franchise matches, and at least 10 franchise games played in the last two years.

CAT C: This category will feature players from both Full Members and associate countries. The minimum criteria to fall under this bracket are 10 T20Is and 25 franchise T20 games, and at least 10 played over the last two years.

Belgium: As the name suggests, the top Belgian cricketers will be part of this category, with preference given to players with experience of playing in foreign franchise leagues. A player panel set by Cricket Belgium will identify the local players that will be included in the draft.
