Lhuan-dre Pretorius slammed a fourth List A hundred in his 20th game during the Titans’ CSA One-Day Cup win over Boland on Sunday (March 1).
Lhuan-dre Pretorius continues fine form with second hundred in three games across formats
The wicketkeeper-batter opened the innings for Titans in their first game of the ongoing season of South Africa’s premier 50-over tournament. He added 60 runs for the first wicket with Rivaldo Moonsamy, on either side of a rain interruption, with the game then reduced to 28 overs each.
Pretorius, who had started cautiously, upped the ante after the restart, hitting 12 runs off Akhona Mnyaka’s over. He then brought up his half-century with a six, going from 28 off 32 at one stage to 55 off 47. He maintained the momentum in a 100-run stand with Keegan Petersen, which came in a little less than 10 overs.
During the century stand, Pretorius brought up his hundred with a six as well, off 73 deliveries, before perishing on the next one. Petersen followed him an over later, but quick cameos from Keagan Lion-Cachet (37 off 19) and Dayyaan Galiem (28 off 14) took the Titans to 235-5 after 28 overs.
Chasing a steep 235 (DLS method), Boland didn’t have the best of starts as they lost three of their top four batters with just 19 runs on the board. Opener Grant Roelofsen (62 off 38) and No.9 Imran Manack (49 off 17) were Boland’s top scorers as the team made their way to 213-9 in 22 overs when rain returned. With no more play possible, the Titans were named the winners by 13 runs through DLS method.

Duan Jansen, twin brother of South Africa all-rounder Marco, picked up two wickets for the Titans, the same as Dayyaan Galiem, Neil Brand and Tsepo Ndwandwa. Gerald Coetzee returned figures of 1-37, while Pretorius rolled his arm over as well, for just the third time in List A cricket. He conceded 15 runs in an over.
The wicketkeeper’s 101-run knock was his second hundred in three games across formats. He had scored a 97-ball 119 in the Titans’ CSA 4-Day Series win over KwaZulu-Natal Inland on February 2, and followed it up with a 56-run knock against Western Province in the first-class competition on February 10.
